Can the TNSG Help with your
Organization's Event?

In addition to its primary mission, the Tennesse State Guard may also assist non-profit organizations or local city and county governments by providing the following services at no cost for events such as parades, races, festivals, or other non-profit or government-sponsored public events:

  • Radio communications (useful to coordinate event activities)
  • Road block assistance
  • Military Honor Guard for flag ceremonies or parades
  • A "uniformed military presence" for any event that qualifies

Under the Tennessee Military Department, the Tennesee State Guard is allowed to assist with such local activities when they do not interfere with the guard's primary mission and when guard manpower is available. The TNSG classifies this type of public service activity as "training opportunities" to differentiate them from disaster response or other mission-essential activities.

If your organization has a need for such services at its public events, submit the online information request to the 3rd Regiment HQ. Include a brief description of your event (include time and date) and how you think the TNSG may be of help. Include your phone number. A guard member will get in touch with you to discuss the possibilities.
