Major Gary Woolf
Regiment Logistics Officer S4

 




Major Gary T. Woolf is the S-4 Officer for the 3rd (Alvin C. York) Regiment of the Tennessee State Guard. He retired in 2005 from Hewlett Packard after 25 years as a hardware training manager. He is a life member of the Manhattan Project, VFW Post 12051 in Oak Ridge, and a member of the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard since 2004. In that capacity, he has performed more than 1,600 military funeral honors.

U.S. Military. A Vietnam War veteran in the United States Air Force, Major Woolf began his service in 1960. He was assigned to Ramstein AB, Germany, Clinton-Sherman AFB, Oklahoma, Tan Son Nhut AB Vietnam, Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, as an Autoden Instructor at Sheppard AFB, Texas, RAF Alconbury, England, and as an Encrypted Satellite Instructor at Keesler AFB, Mississippi. He retired from active duty in 1981 as a Master Sergeant. MAJ Woolf joined the Tennessee State Guard in 2004.

Duty Description:

The S4 has staff responsibility for the logistics services and facilities available to the regiment. These are supply, transportation, maintenance, logistics plans and records, and other similar duty areas. The S4 prepares logistical plans and appropriate portions of published orders and plans.
