The 3rd Regiment’s S2 Officer (Acting) is CW4 Bobbie Mallard. Chief Mallard holds degrees in business administration, criminal justice, and psychology (counseling psychology). Officially retired, she has a broad range of experience in both public and private sector occupations, having worked as a business owner, a district manager in the motel and restaurant industry, a welder, cosmetologist, finance director, and technical director for a stage company, as well as serving as a law enforcement for the state of Tennessee, a police and a corrections officer, a firefighter, and a D.O.D special agent. She is or has been licensed as a firearms instructer, Scuba diver and a fixed wing pilot.
U.S. Military: CW4 Mallard enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967. After basic training, she attended Military Intelligence school, and served as an intelligence agent. Throughout her career she served as a field agent, special agent in charge of various field offices, and as senior NCO over a staff or personnel in the regimental, division, and army level offices of Intelligence, Operations, and Training. She transferred to the Military Police where she assumed her duties in patrol, traffic control, security, accident investigations, and criminal investigations until her retirement in 1988.
TNSG: CW4 Mallard joined the TNSG in June 2011, as the assistant S 2, until June 2012 when she was promoted to the S-2 (Acting), while awaiting orders changing her commission as warrant officer to commissioned officer. Chief Mallard has received training and certified in P.O.D.s, MEMS Basic, and qualified as a Amateur Radio Operator with a General license. She trained in the TNSG standards and methods of operations, assisted In training other personnel, and participated in the 2011 NLE with National Guard, TEMA, FEMA, and other state agencies in an state emergency operations communications test.
Duty description:
Military Intelligence provides
timely, relevant, and accurate intelligence and electronic warfare
(EW) support to leaders at all levels. MI officers lead, manage,
and direct intelligence
planning and operations across the entire operational continuum.
The
S2 is responsible for the production and dissemination of
intelligence matters that relate to the effective operation of
the unit. He or she also assists the commander and staff in physical
security
matters. To fulfill the primary responsibility of producing tactical
and strategic operations intelligence, the S2
collects, collates,
evaluates,
interprets and disseminates information on weather and terrain
which may influence the accomplishment of the unit
mission.
