Duty description:
The regiment chaplain provides for the spiritual needs of the members of the unit, so that the mission can be accomplished most effectively. The regiment chaplain is also responsible for the recruitment, training, and supervision of the four battalion chaplains assigned to the regiment.
As Chaplains of the TNSG we are members of the communities were we live. We are preachers, teachers, counselors, and citizen-soldiers. We are those who minister to our neighbors through the local church and other ministry organizations and we ourselves are neighbors who devote part of our private time to our country. As TNSG Chaplains we accept the challenge to go beyond the traditional ministry to better serve the community.
A new TNSG Chaplain will be assigned to the open battalion nearest home. The Chaplain is the religious leader of this unit and also serves as the personal advisor to the commander on all matters of morality, integrity, and religious matters for his fellow soldiers. During annual training we coordinate with the other chaplains to ensure that all soldiers have the opportunity to worship according to the tenants of their faith.
We also serve as administrators and instructors using our specialized training for the benefit of our unit. All the skills developed for civilian ministry are employed in a military setting. As an ordained minister of your faith group you are invited to be a part of this unique ministry opportunity. |
